A spoonful of smiles. A jar of love. A cup of kisses. A handful of hugs.

It is finally starting to feel like Fall in San Diego, so, you know what that means - don't ya!

B A K I N G ! !

From the time of watching my mother bake, as a child, it filled me with so much joy to know that soon we will have yummy treats to devour. Around middle school my mom passed the baking button and the last couple of years I have passed the button to my Cassy - she LOVES baking! Today, though, I was in the baking mood and thought today would be an excellent day to surprise her and Jimmy with a yummy, made with love, carb for a Friday.

If you haven't started baking this season OR have but would love another recipe, here's one for you and your loves to enjoy :)

p.s. its super easy for the tots to help, too

The Perfect Biscuit Recipe

Dry Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbls sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4tsp baking power
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup butter (butter works better when cold. also, I chopped up the butter in cube size pieces)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of milk (I used almond milk)

Pre-heat oven at 450 degrees. Combine dry ingredients first, then add butter and knead, lastly add the wet ingredients and knead until dough forms. If dough gets sticky, sprinkle some flour. Lightly oil / grease baking sheet. Place dough on a floured surface and roll dough till it is between 3/4 to an inch thick. You can use a circle shaped cookie-cutter OR any other large shape to cut out the biscuits. Place on cookie-sheet and bake 10-12 minutes, or until golden.
